If a wife apostatizes and is divorced during her apostasy, then if she repents and returns to Islam during her , the divorce is effective, and if it was the third divorce, then she is not permissible for you until she marries someone else. However, if she does not return to Islam until her iddah expires, the divorce is not effective, and you are permitted to take her back with a new contract if she returns to Islam after the iddah, because she becomes irrevocably separated by minor baynunah upon the expiration of the iddah. We issue a that separation due to apostasy is contingent upon the expiration of the iddah.
