What is the Sharʿī ruling on repeating the phrase "You are divorced" three times during intense anger, and what are the implications of saying "You are divorced by three," and does the wife remain in her home or does separation occur?

If a husband utters a divorce while he is not conscious of what he is saying due to extreme anger, the divorce does not take effect, and his wife remains under his marital bond.

However, if he utters it while being aware of what he is saying, she becomes unlawful for him, and separation becomes obligatory. She does not become lawful for him again until she marries another man in a valid marriage, and then he divorces her after consummation.

Similarly, she becomes unlawful for him if he was conscious when he said: "Finally, you are divorced by three," according to the view of the majority of scholars. In contrast to Ibn Taymiyyah and those who agree with him, who say that only one divorce takes effect, according to this latter opinion, she does not become unlawful for him, and he can reconcile with her before her waiting period (iddah (definition)) expires.
