The question

Does a girl who has had her marriage contract (aqd qiran) solemnized, but whose wedding has not yet taken place, sin by refusing to allow her husband to be intimate with her, justifying this by saying that she is still in her parents' home and financially dependent on them, and that her husband is currently unable to provide for her?

The answer

The wife is obligated to grant her husband access after the payment of the dower, while observing the customary period for preparation. If the dower has not been paid, she is not obligated to grant access. If she grants him access and he subsequently becomes unable to provide for her maintenance, she may refer her case to the judge and request the annulment of the marriage.
