Is it permissible for me to sit with my married female relative who is experiencing marital problems, in the presence of her guardian and without seclusion, to discuss general matters with her that contain hints of marriage after her divorce, especially since I see in her the righteous wife I am searching for? And is it permissible for me to hint to her and her guardian that I will wait for her until her ordeal ends and she then becomes associated with me?

It is not permissible to approach a married woman or her guardian with the intention of marrying her, nor is it permissible to speak with her or become attached to her. This is due to the prohibition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, against speaking with women except with the permission of their husbands.

Thus, hinting at proposing to a married woman is even more strictly forbidden than hinting at proposing to a woman in revocable divorce, and it is considered among the grave sins. This is because it is an illicit act of seduction, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "He is not one of us who incites a woman against her husband."
