For a marriage to be valid, five conditions are required: the designation of the spouses, their consent, the presence of a guardian (wali), the presence of witnesses, and the absence of any impediments to marriage for both spouses. If these conditions are met, the marriage is valid. Documenting it in writing is preferable to safeguard rights.
