Is the marriage contract in Egypt considered legitimate, given that the wife is from the People of the Book and the contract was concluded in court with the presence of just witnesses and public declaration, without the husband knowing about the necessity of a guardian, and without informing the wife's father due to his expected rejection because of the husband's religion, and does the obligation to inform the first guardian (the father) lapse due to him being a wine-drinker and irreligious?

This contract is Islamically invalid unless a judge rules it to be valid. Its rectification is done by conducting a Sharia contract overseen by the woman's father or his representative. If he withholds her consent (adhlaha) and she has no suitable guardian for marriage, the Muslim judge will marry her off. If there are no Sharia courts in the country, Islamic centers can act in their stead.
