In summary, for the majority of jurists, a man's pronouncement of divorce for his unconsummated wife, contingent upon her complaining about him to his father, constitutes an irrevocable divorce, necessitating a new marriage contract for her return. However, according to Sheikh Al-Islam and those who concur with him, the divorce does not take place if the intention was to threaten or intimidate, and an expiation for a broken oath (kaffarat yamin (definition)) becomes obligatory.
