What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding getting involved with a girl while currently lacking the financial means to marry?

We advise proposing to the girl after performing , and completing the legitimate marriage contract to make the relationship permissible. There is no harm in delaying consummation. It has been reported in the : "There is nothing better for two who love each other than marriage." Marriage is one of the means for facilitating sustenance. Allah (the Most High) says: "If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty." And whoever marries seeking chastity, it is a right upon Allah to help him.
