What is the ruling on a Muslim man marrying a Kitabiyyah (woman of the People of the Book) without a guardian (wali), given that the husband is aware of her consent to travel for work and to visit family, and to accept gifts, funding, and participation in projects?

The marriage of a woman without a guardian (wali) is invalid according to the majority of scholars, and the view of the majority is the most preponderant. Therefore, this contract is invalid and must be annulled by divorce. It is permissible to marry her after her 'iddah (definition) (waiting period) with a contract that fulfills all its pillars and conditions. As for accepting her gifts and dealing with her in a project, there is no harm in it if it adheres to the Sharia (definition) guidelines.
