What is the ruling on continuing a marriage with a woman who was found not to be a virgin upon consummation, and is divorcing her obligatory?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
It is not forbidden for a man who marries a woman, then discovers she is a thayyib (previously married or non-virgin), to continue with her. He is not obligated to divorce her, as long as no harm results from their continuation. Indeed, his continuation with her might even be better.
