What is the ruling on marrying a man with a forged contract without the wife's knowledge, and what is the husband's punishment in this case?

If the falsification of the contract means that it does not meet the conditions and pillars, then the contract is فاسد (voidable) and separation is obligatory, and the effects of a valid marriage follow. The sin falls upon the husband if he deceived the wife due to her ignorance of the ruling. However, if the falsification means that the contract was not registered with government agencies despite fulfilling the conditions and pillars, then the contract is valid. Caution must be exercised in matters of marriage and in knowing its Islamic ruling. The wife is not permitted to seek divorce unless there is a legitimate religious justification. The husband must treat his wife with kindness.
