Did the wife commit something that violates the teachings of Islam by not putting the money in her husband's hand? And was she obligated to register the car in his name? And is it permissible for the husband to mistreat his wife and deprive her of her basic needs because of that? And is the husband's responsibility for his family's basic needs an act of charity from him or a duty?

A wife is not obligated to hand over her money to her husband or register her car in his name, unless she does so willingly and with good grace. It is not permissible for the husband to treat her badly in order to take her money. He is obliged to spend on her and on their children from his own wealth and to provide suitable housing for them.
