Is it permissible to prevent a second wife from conceiving with the aim of "disciplining" and chastising her for her sharp tongue when angry, knowing that she yearns for children?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Bearing children is the most important purpose of marriage, and it is a right for both spouses. Therefore, coitus interruptus (azl) was forbidden without the wife's consent. Accordingly, a husband does not have the right to prevent his wife from conceiving, especially if she is obedient to him. Childbearing may also motivate her to accept advice and discipline.
