Is it permissible to take an in-kind loan in the form of equipment in exchange for relinquishing my academic certificate, and to obtain cash liquidity to run the project, and is it permissible to establish the project without the husband's knowledge?
A husband must provide for his wife and secure suitable accommodation for her, even if it is rented. The wife is not obligated to spend from her private funds on the household unless she voluntarily chooses to do so. Whatever the wife earns from her work is her exclusive right, and it is not permissible for the husband to take it unless he stipulated this condition for allowing her to work. Usurious loans with an increase are forbidden. However, it is permissible for an entity to sell equipment and then sell it to the wife in installments. If the husband does not provide for his wife, he has no right to prevent her from working. But if he does provide for her, the wife is not permitted to work outside the home without his permission. She is not required to seek his permission if the work is inside the home and does not neglect his rights.
