What is the religious ruling concerning a husband who told his wife, "If I curse you again, you are divorced by three," and then his wife provoked him and cursed him, so he cursed her?

If you tied your wife's triple divorce to her verbally abusing you, and the abuse occurred, then the triple divorce takes effect according to the majority of scholars, and this is the fatwa (definition) given. Ibn Taymiyyah, however, held that a conditional divorce does not take effect if divorce was not intended by it, and that a triple divorce counts as a single divorce.
