Um Kalthum bint Uqbah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not consider him a liar: ...a man who speaks to his wife, and a woman who speaks to her husband." This lying refers to expressing affection and promising what is not obligatory, not to deception or wrongfully seizing rights.
