Is there anything incumbent upon me after undergoing an abortion based on a doctor's diagnosis that stated the gestational sac was empty, then later it became apparent to me that there was a possibility of pregnancy and a misdiagnosis?

The answer

If a pregnancy is aborted after the ensoulment (infusion of the spirit) without a lawful reason, the female doctor is considered the direct cause. If she did this with expertise and knowledge, she is liable for a ghurrah to be paid by her āqilah, and there is no sin upon her. She is also liable for (expiation): freeing a slave, and if she cannot find one, then fasting for two consecutive months. The ghurrah is a male or female slave, and its value is one-tenth of the blood money of the mother of the fetus.
