The question

Will I bear a great sin for having prayed for an increase in beauty and a decrease in weight for myself and others on Laylat al-Qadr, given that I was not previously aware that this constitutes an transgression in supplication?

The answer

"There is no sin upon you in supplicating for increased beauty and decreased weight. Increased beauty can be through the light God places on a believer’s face due to their obedience, or by using dyes and oils to improve appearance. This is not an transgression in supplication. However, supplicating for increased beauty with the intention of changing creation, which is usually impossible, is among the forbidden transgressions. As for supplicating for weight loss, it is permissible and clearly so."
