There is no sin upon one who fasts on Friday and an excuse arises preventing him from fasting on Saturday, and his fast is accepted. For the prohibition against singling out Friday for fasting is understood to apply to voluntary fasts, not to make-up fasts (Qada') or vowed fasts (Nadhir).
