Is it obligatory for someone who intends to perform Hajj to fast the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah before their departure while they are still at home?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
It is recommended for the non-pilgrim to fast the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, especially the Day of Arafah. As for the pilgrim, it is recommended for him to fast the first eight days, excluding the Day of Arafah, so that fasting does not weaken him from standing and supplicating.
