Is it obligatory for the wife to successively re-fast the vowed days, or is her previous fasting sufficient, and is the expiation of three days sufficient for swearing a false oath with her brother?

If a wife vows to fast certain days of a specific month, and she fasts some of them and breaks her fast on others without a valid excuse, then she is only required to make up for the days she missed. Additionally, according to the Hanbalis, she must offer expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin (definition)). However, if she vows to fast consecutive days without specifying them, she must restart the vowed fast anew, rendering her previous fasting invalid, and there is no expiation upon her.

Regarding a false oath (yamin al-ghamūs), she must repent from it due to the severe warnings mentioned concerning it, and there is no expiation for it according to the majority of scholars. It should be noted that whoever breaks an oath is not absolved by fasting unless they are unable to feed, clothe, or free a slave.
