Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man who believes in God, especially since she has been divorced multiple times and is isolated from the Muslim community, and why is she not permitted to marry a non-Muslim while a Muslim man is permitted to do so?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
A Muslim man is not permitted to marry a polytheist woman, nor is a Muslim woman permitted to marry a polytheist man. The only exception to this is a Muslim man marrying a chaste woman from the People of the Book. This ruling is supported by evidence and has been agreed upon by the Muslim community, and it is not permissible to object to it. The marriage of a Muslim woman to a non-Muslim, even if he is from the People of the Book, is null and void and is considered to be in the category of fornication.
