Is it permissible to give charity to a disbeliever? And does a Muslim receive the reward of daily charity if he designates a money box in which he places money daily after Fajr prayer to empty it weekly into the donation boxes of charities and benevolent organizations?

It is permissible to give charity to a non-Muslim worker, even though a Muslim has more right to it. As for the reward of charity, unless it is actually given, there is no certainty of receiving the reward of charity every day. However, a person is rewarded for the mere intention of doing good, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever intends to do a good deed and does not do it, it will be written down for him as a good deed." Scholars have stated that one is rewarded for a good intention even if it is not accompanied by action, especially if one is prevented from acting by an excuse.
