Foods that are permissible become forbidden if a prohibited substance, such as pork, is added to them, even if the amount is small or it is listed under a different name. A Muslim must be diligent in examining their food. If there are unknown ingredients in the composition of foods, they must inquire about them or avoid them out of piety.
