What is the wisdom behind the lawful and the unlawful?

The question is not entirely clear, but halal (definition) (permissible) and haram (definition) (forbidden) in Islamic law always have wisdom behind them. One of the most important aspects of this wisdom is to test a Muslim's compliance with God's commands and prohibitions. It must be believed that fulfilling commands and avoiding prohibitions are the essence of wisdom and benefit. The Lawgiver may not explicitly state a specific wisdom for commands and prohibitions, so scholars strive to deduce them. However, their lack of awareness of the wisdom does not mean that God's commands and prohibitions are devoid of it.
