Imam Al-Ghazali adduced as proof for preferring eating fruit before meat, Allah's saying: "And fruit of the kind they choose And the flesh of fowl from that which they desire," explaining that fruit transforms more quickly, and thus ought to settle in the lower part of the stomach.
