The answer

The second from Jabir ibn Samurah regarding the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) sitting in his prayer area after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises well is more authentic than the first Hadith. There is no contradiction between them concerning the issue of waiting. The Hadiths do not indicate the permissibility of performing supererogatory prayers at sunrise, as it is a time of prohibition, except for prayers with a specific reason, such as Tahiyyat al-Masjid (greeting the mosque). What is meant by his prayer area where he prayed is the entire mosque. So, if he moved to another spot within the mosque, he would not have left his prayer area. If he needed to use the restroom and returned to pray two rak'ahs, he would still receive the reward for sitting and performing dhikr, as he is like a traveler or a sick person.
