Performing (ritual bath) before entering into for or Hajj is a (recommended practice) and not obligatory. Scholars have unanimously agreed that entering into ihram is permissible without ghusl, and that it is not obligatory. Rather, it is recommended to perform ghusl before entering into ihram for any Umrah or Hajj.
