Does the distress that accompanies remembering a major sin and repenting from it indicate that the repentance was not accepted? And do Umrah and Hajj expiate sins so that one may meet Allah purified?

Allah Almighty accepts the repentance of wrongdoers and forgives all sins, and one should not despair of His mercy. Hajj and Umrah (definition) expiate sins and alleviate poverty, and one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. Life's problems, such as distress and infertility, are not an indication that repentance has not been accepted.
