What is the religious ruling on one who performs Umrah, feeling that it is not accepted by reason, and does it to please Allah without understanding its benefit, and senses that the House of Allah is merely stones and not as he imagined?

The actions of Hajj are among the acts of worship that Allah Almighty commanded His servants to perform as acts of devotion, despite the inability of human intellects to grasp their wisdom. The motive behind them is merely submission and compliance with the commands of Allah Almighty, which demonstrates the wisdom of trial and testing. The intellect is incapable of understanding the wisdom in such matters. Imam Al-Ghazali explained that concealing the legislative rationale for the rituals of Hajj and Umrah (definition) aims to isolate the intellect from its own disposition and divert the soul from its accustomed comfort, because anything whose meaning the intellect grasps, the human nature inclines towards it, which diminishes the perfection of servitude and submission. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said specifically regarding Hajj: "Here I am for a true Hajj, in devotion and servitude," and he did not say that about prayer or anything else. If the salvation of creation is linked to their actions being contrary to their desires, then what cannot be understood in its meanings is the most profound type of worship in purifying souls. As long as a Muslim performs the acts of Hajj or Umrah in compliance with the commands of Allah Almighty, he is upon goodness, and his not understanding their wisdom does not harm him.
