What should I do if the sacrifice (nahr) was not offered during the substitute Hajj for my deceased father?

If you appoint someone to perform Hajj on your behalf for a fee, and a contract is drawn up, the deputy, being a resident of Mecca, is not required to go to the miqat (definition) of the person who appointed him. If the deputy performs ihram (definition) from Mecca and does not commit any prohibited acts, he is not obligated to offer a hady (sacrificial animal), because a Meccan does not perform tamattu'. However, if a dam (blood sacrifice) becomes obligatory for him, either as a hady or due to committing a prohibited act, it shall be from the deputy's own money, not from the employer's money. As long as you have hired a trustworthy student of knowledge, you are not required to inquire about the slaughter of the hady; if it becomes obligatory for him, he will undertake its slaughter.
