How should a girl behave in a co-ed school with a male majority, and is it permissible for her to speak with male students in a friendly manner when in need of help, taking into consideration the small number of female students and the boldness of the male students?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against the trial (fitna) of women, considering it the most severe trial for men. He forbade the mixing of genders, due to the causes it contains for the descent of punishments, the corruption of affairs, and the proliferation of indecencies. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, turned the face of Al-Fadl ibn Abbas away so that he would not look at a non-mahram (definition) woman. This indicates the obligation to prevent unlawful looking and mixing, and that the Imam must prevent men and women from looking at each other.
