Is it permissible for a woman to seek the assistance of her brother, a doctor, to help her with childbirth, whether psychologically or practically, given the current health risks, even if other doctors are available?

It is not permissible for a woman to allow a male doctor to treat her or deliver her child and examine her 'awrah (intimate parts) except in cases of extreme necessity, such as the unavailability of a female doctor or midwife. If a female doctor is available, it is not permissible to resort to a male doctor instead. If necessity arises and no mahram (definition) (unmarriageable kin) doctor is available, it is permissible for her to be treated by a non-mahram doctor. If the necessity can be fulfilled by one doctor and assistance from women, it is not permissible to involve a second doctor. A woman must seek a female doctor for her delivery, and if she is available, her brother is not permitted to be present to assist; her husband is more entitled to provide moral support.
