Is it permissible to continue a chat conversation with a Christian man who claims a desire to convert to Islam for marriage, while he appears to be procrastinating?

Chatting is a permissible means of communication if used correctly. Thus, it is permissible to address women and mahrams, but it is not permissible to converse with non-mahram (definition) men without need. A woman should not directly invite a non-mahram man; rather, her invitation should be within the circle of women. It is obligatory to cut off relations with a non-Muslim, as a Muslim woman cannot marry a non-Muslim. Furthermore, getting to know a life partner should not occur through chat due to the prevalence of deception therein.
