What is the ruling on a woman working as an online translator, and is it permissible for a married woman who is not in need of money to work as an oncology surgeon, taking into consideration the saying of the shaykhs that "a woman may work if she is in need of the work, and she may work as a doctor or a teacher for women only"?

There is no legal impediment to a woman working if she adheres to the Sharia (definition) guidelines, including: her husband's permission if she needs to go out, and that the work is suitable for her nature and does not affect her home and children. It is stipulated for online translation work that the translated text must be permissible, that she does not speak in a soft or alluring tone with a non-mahram (definition) man, and that there is no private conversation with him through chat rooms.
