What is the ruling on teaching women language in mixed-gender schools?

It is not permissible to reside in non-Muslim lands except out of pressing necessity. This is even more critical for a woman, as it is not permissible for her to travel without a mahram (definition). As for learning the language, one must search for a non-mixed school or another means of learning. If she is compelled to reside and learn the language in a mixed school, she may do so only to the extent of the necessity. She must adhere to Islamic dress, avoid perfumes when going out, strive to learn from female teachers, and avoid mixing with or speaking to men except when necessary, while maintaining prayers and dhikr and associating with righteous women.
