With which of the two groups is it permissible to work, knowing that one of them includes a Muslim of sound belief, but his group contains those who demand equality in inheritance, and the other includes a friend of sound belief and an unveiled woman who prays and opposes equality in inheritance?

The corruption of religion occurs either through false belief (innovations) or by acting contrary to the true belief (sinfulness of deeds). This leads to two types of temptations: doubts and desires. Doubts are like believing in equality in inheritance, and desires are like looking at unveiled women. Dealing with them involves repelling the greater by enduring the lesser, attaining the greater of two benefits by missing the lesser, and averting the greater of two harms by accepting the lesser. Thus, the wise person is one who knows the better of two good things and the worse of two bad things.
