The answer

Slander is not one of the restricted nullifiers of ablution. However, it is recommended to perform ablution after committing a sin, in order to expiate sins, as has been authentically reported from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Scholars have mentioned the recommendation of performing ablution after uttering foul speech, such as backbiting and lying, and they have unanimously agreed that ablution is not obligatory for such acts.
