How can one balance play and worship to please Allah?

Time is the most precious possession a person has, and the wise one is he who utilizes it for what benefits him in this world and the Hereafter. This is indicated by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Two blessings in which many people are deceived: health and free time." Despite the importance of time, it is permissible for a Muslim to entertain himself with lawful play without extravagance or neglecting obligations. Examples include hunting, recreational trips with lawful guidelines, going out with righteous companions, sports, and mental entertainment programs.
