Is it permissible to perform a lengthening surgery on a congenitally deformed middle toe (shorter than its counterpart) to remove the deformity and embarrassment?

Allah the Almighty and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, condemned those who alter Allah's creation for the sake of beauty, such as those who artificially separate their teeth (al-mutafallijat) or pluck their eyebrows (al-mutanammisat). However, this condemnation does not include alterations made out of dire need or necessity. A need is considered on par with necessity, such as for treatment or to remove a defect. But if the alteration is merely for enhancement and does not cause embarrassment or hardship, then it is not permissible, and one must be content with Allah's decree.
