Does studying medicine in Islam carry a reward, and can a Muslim woman benefit Islam through it, this being to support a female student facing academic difficulties and intrusive thoughts about the value of the profession and her future?

The questioner suffering from waswasa (whispers/obsessive thoughts) should divert her attention to what benefits her in her religion and worldly life. She should combine the worship of Allah with her medical studies, which will benefit herself and her nation, especially since medicine is one of the most honorable sciences after Sharia (definition). It was narrated that Imam Al-Shafi'i said: "I do not know of any science after the lawful and the unlawful more noble than medicine, except that the People of the Book have surpassed us in it." Therefore, she should strive diligently in her studies, seeking reward, exercising patience, and seeking help from Allah.
