Is it permissible, in Islamic law, to demand financial compensation for physical and psychological harm resulting from the use of a medication prescribed by a doctor?

If the manufacturing company does not place an adequate warning about the side effects of a certain medicine, then it guarantees the damage resulting therefrom, and the responsibility falls solely upon it, not on the drug experts working for it. Compensation is estimated according to the physical harm incurred and the loss of the benefits of organs. If the injury leads to the complete destruction of sexual potency, full blood money (Diyyah) is due. As for compensation for psychological or moral damage, reference should be made to Fatwa (definition) No. 49891.
