Is it permissible to benefit from a machine that converts old Libyan currency into circulating currency, knowing that banks do not exchange it except by confiscating it, and that I am in urgent need of money for medical treatment?

A fatwa (definition) was previously issued prohibiting the counterfeiting of currency by unauthorized parties due to the harms that result from it. Therefore, the claim that it does not harm the state's interest is inaccurate. Rather, it harms the parties that receive this currency, thinking it is genuine, and this is deception. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever deceives is not from me." You should fear Allah, as He Almighty said: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect."
