The answer

One who is afflicted by the touch of jinn may be seized by fits, or not, depending on the malice of the jinn. This type of fit is one of the two known types of epilepsy. The second type of epilepsy is caused by an organic medical condition. Al-Shawkani mentioned that epilepsy is an ailment that prevents the main organs from being used due to a dense wind confined in the brain. Epilepsy can also be from malicious jinn, either because they are pleased with the human form or to harm them. Modern medicine, however, has not differentiated between the two types and has defined epilepsy as a disease whose recurrent seizures cause temporary abnormal movements, accompanied or not accompanied by abnormal sensation or behavior.
