The answer

Seeking religious knowledge is one of the best ways to draw near to Allah, as Allah the Almighty says: "Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees." (Quran 58:11) And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah wills good for a person, He grants him understanding of the religion." As for beneficial worldly sciences, such as medicine and engineering, which serve the Ummah and do not contradict Islamic law, a person is rewarded for them if he intends to serve Islam.

Based on this, we advise you to obey your parents by completing your current university studies, and then enrolling in the Islamic University. This combines both benefits, and because: "The pleasure of Allah is in the pleasure of the parents, and the displeasure of Allah is in the displeasure of the parents."
