What is the ruling on the actions of a mother who wishes to admit her elderly and sick husband into a nursing home despite her financial ability to care for him, her refusal to give him medication, her poor treatment of him, and her efforts to disinherit her daughters? And what should the daughter do in this situation?

If the mother wrongs the father and seeks to take his money unjustly, then she is an oppressor. However, the right of parents is great and is not forfeited by their injustice. They must be treated with politeness, kindness, and humility, especially in their old age. The children must care for their father, serve him, and ward off harm from him. As for the money that is in the mother's name, and she claims it is the father's money, this matter should be referred to the Sharia (definition) court. If the daughter is in need of maintenance and her father is in financial difficulty while her mother is well-off, then the mother must spend on her.
