The answer

is obligatory on money offered for trade subject to two conditions: reaching the minimum threshold () and the completion of one lunar year (Hawl).

Zakat on trade goods is obligatory on everything prepared for sale and trade, such as the medicines and supplies of a pharmacy. It is not obligatory on items that are not sold, such as furniture and equipment.

What is for sale must be evaluated at the selling price at the end of the Hawl, with the addition of unspent profits, and then Zakat is paid on the total at a rate of 2.5%.

It should be known that the Hawl for trade goods is a continuation of the Hawl of the money with which they were purchased, and not from the day they were bought.
