is not obligatory on a Muslim's car, house, or shop, because zakat is obligatory on what is bought and sold with the intention of profit and trade (trade goods). So, whoever acquires real estate for trade must pay zakat on its value, a quarter of a tenth. However, whoever acquires it for residence, agriculture, or rent, there is no zakat on it, and zakat is on its rent if a year has passed. Therefore, there is no zakat on this shop.
