The answer

Borrowing from a bank with interest is usury (riba) forbidden by Islamic law. You must avoid it and seek another means to solve your problem, such as reducing monthly expenses. However, if a person is truly compelled by a genuine necessity, such as fearing death from starvation and being unable to avert it except through interest-based borrowing, then we hope there will be no sin upon him; for Allah Almighty says: "And He has already explained to you what He has forbidden to you, except for that to which you are compelled."
