Is it permissible to work in an Islamic bank some of whose transactions are not Sharia-compliant due to governmental pressure, and is it permissible to work in an Islamic branch of an interest-based bank?

There is no harm in working at an Islamic bank if its transactions, or most of them, conform to Islamic law. However, if some of its transactions are not Sharia (definition)-compliant, there is no impediment to working there, as long as it does not involve assisting in prohibited transactions. This ruling applies to the Islamic branches of interest-based banks.
